Sunrise

It’s rare that I get to see the Sun rise above the mountains in the morning. But when I do, it’s a beautiful thing.

It’s seen by few; most don’t gaze in that direction. Instead, it’s been decided that they wear their heads facing down this morning. They walk towards their day job, looking ahead only at their next two steps.

Yet here I am—with my cat, Jasmine, and my favourite song playing—staring at the endless sky. Even for an overcast day, a slight yellow marks the horizon.

And then our solar system’s star peeks above the mountains, and our day begins.

Good morning.
