A good conversation
During quarantine, it has been difficult to find opportunities for meaningful conversation. When I am able to connect with someone, I don’t want it to end.
Here are some of the characteristics of what I consider to be a good conversation:
- You want to hear what the other person has to say more than yourself.
- You can be yourself and speak your mind without worry.
- Any built-up frustration slowly fades as the other person acknowledges and understands what you’re saying.
- The conversation is about ideas, not just people and events.
- A new perspective is presented to you that gives you more to think about.
- It ends with the feeling that there’s so much more to discuss.
